Crown and Bridge
Crowns and bridges are prosthetic devised that cannot be removed from the mouth.
Crowns are essentially a ‘cap’ around the tooth and is recommended when:
There is a heavily filled tooth or tooth which has had root canal treatment. A crown will provide strength to the tooth but will also help with the aesthetics of the tooth (how it looks) and its functions in the mouth. Most crowns are made to match the colour of your teeth but can also be made in stainless steel and gold.
Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap — these two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth — and a false tooth/teeth in between.
