Dr Ali Baker


Dr Baker graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (First Class Honours) from the University of Baghdad. After his graduation, he worked as a House Surgeon in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and then trained with specialists in all disciplines of dentistry. At the end of 2005, he became a tutor of oral surgery at the dental school.

Dr Baker finished his NZDREX qualification in New Zealand in 2009 after working in more than 40 dental surgeries all over Auckland. In 2014, he completed a 100 hours’ postgraduate program (Lumino GO) in general dentistry focusing on restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

Dr Baker is currently studying for his postgraduate membership (in general dental practice) with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeon in Australia.

Dr Baker enjoys doing a broad range of general dentistry, including cosmetic dentistry, and have interests in Oral Surgery and wisdom teeth removal. He is also qualified and licensed to provide Intra-venous sedation (and other forms of sedation) for patients who require sedation for different reasons.

Ali pays close attention to details, takes his work seriously and treats people with complete honesty, the way he would like to be treated himself. Ali is passionate about knowledge and keeps himself up to date in all areas of dentistry by continuous studying, teaching and postgraduate courses.

Outside dentistry, he enjoys watching documentaries, playing sports and music. He played in the Auckland sub football league from 2007 to 2012.

Dr Baker is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and the New Zealand Society for Sedation in Dentistry, and a candidate member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeon.
