Once all assessment where finished, the next step is the surgical phase. Patient will be advised by the dentist to start antibiotics prior the day of surgery. One the day of surgery dentist will start the procedure by injecting local anesthesia to numb the implant placement site. Then with in 10 to 20 minutes implant will be placed and the site will be secured with sutures. Most of the patient can start wearing temporary teeth to restore their smile after 2 weeks This visit takes 30 - 90 minutes depending upon the number of implants.
This final phase takes place after the implants have healed for 4-9 months. During this phase dentist will place an abutment and crown or a denture on the implant so you can use and enjoy it. Your dental implants will be reviewed every 3 months once in the first year and 6 months once thereafter.
